I have only been to the two So. Cal beaches, Blacks and San Onofre.
Blacks seems to be the most populated with nude bathers but with many gawkers, mostly men dressed in long pants and long sleeve shirts, obviously not there for a day at the beach. It can be a very tough hike up the cliffs (500 feet) after being on the beach all day so pack lightly.
When the water reaches around 68 degrees the water can be full of small sting rays. Size doesn't matter, the small ones hurt as much as the large ones if you step on one. Just shuffle your feet while in the water to scare them away and you should be ok. I've never been hit by one in all the times I've been there.
San Onofre is an easier walk down to the beach but the beach is rockier than Blacks. Fewer gawkers at San Onofre...the southern beach border is the Camp Pendleton Marine base. When you enter the park, pay the daily parking fee of $6 and drive to the last trail and park there. That trail takes you to the nude end of the beach. Going nude in other areas of the beach can get you a ticket and fine.
Spring breakers usually prefer Blacks because it's in San Diego. Hopefully next week will be hot!
