We stayed at Tulum Cabanas, a few miles from Tulum. Quite cheap, large rooms, fairly basic, but the great attraction is that they are right on the beach - try to get a front row cabana; restaurant quite good but slow service; better (but more expensive) restaurant next door. Not a nudist place, nor is the beach --- however, the beach is great for sand and swimming and is a few miles long and if you walk to the South end of it, it is deserted there so you can easily strip off and do whatever you want. I found it alright to just wear a bikini thong and no top for walking along the beach.
