We have had an ftp upload spot for years usually used by people who have hundreds of photos to upload. We don't publish the spot on the site. We are getting and answering emails all day long so I don't know what happened to yours. We do get a ratio of spam to real mail of 100:1 so maybe it got erased. If you should write us a message and forget to put a subject line or if you put a subject like "hey you" it probably gets erased without being looked at.

The question of what kind of video file to use and what software is a hairy one. We use Macs for media work. And people who use macs rarely ask these questions so it is probably not of any use to say what mac programs should be used. So really we don't know what PC users should be using. There must be tons of shareware programs out there. Maybe someone can write a tutorial out there and we'll post it. We'll consider it as valuable as a photo or video submission.
The number one thing for us is maintaining quality. So if we can start with a DV tape or even a DVD, that is great for us. Every computer savvy kid with a computer is shooting video of their friends and burning their own DVDs. If you can figure out the same, then you can either mail us the DVD or upload the DVD file directory to our ftp.
Or if you know how to create a full-size, good quality (not too compressed) mpeg, that can be uploaded.
