NJ is a weird place, you can have 80 degrees in May and 30 people at the beach, because its May, then in June 71 and cloudy and 3000 people at the same beach. People in NJ have this sense, no idea where it comes from, that you can only go to the beach between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
