: When you say “it seems it's the most liberal country with regard to social nudity” ... yes, we definitely agree. We have been to many nude beaches in many countries, and Spain is our favourite. It’s really the Spanish who make Spain what it is for liberal nudity.
: There is a well known nudist beach at Sitges, not far from Barcelona. We went once but the weather was bad, so noone else there. This is a popular gay resort, but should still be OK for couples. Otherwise the whole of the South (Mediterranean) coast of Spain is quite developed, so there will be various beaches where you can go nude without any difficulty, but no significant places to recommend.
: The island of Ibiza is our favourite in Spain for beaches, many of them nude. It is not far from Barcelona. You can fly there, or go by boat (with or without car) from Barcelona or Denia, but it is an expensive journey however you do it. Best to hire a car when you get on Ibiza, rather than take one with you.
: The Costa de la Luz on the West (Atlantic) coast has great beaches and extensively nude. But it’s a long way from Barcelona. It would be better flying to Jerez, Sevilla, Gibraltar or Malaga, but these all have far fewer flights than Barcelona.
: Car hire is cheap in Spain, and anywhere in the country you need a car to get to the best beaches.
: Apart from beaches, allow a couple of days for Barcelona, there is plenty to see in the city and has a vibrant atmosphere.
: We have never stayed in a nudist resort in Spain, Vera Playa is the well known one (on the Costa del Sol, I think). Nor have we tried saunas/clubs, but there are plenty of them.
: It is usually hot from June to September but this cannot be guaranteed, cloud/rain/coolness are always possible. July and August are the hottest times and most reliable for weather, but also the most crowded and most expensive. June and early September are usually good, but you are taking a sight chance with the weather.
: You could also consider Cap d’Agde across the border in France, not far to drive from Barcelona, but ONLY if you want the concept of a vast complex with nudity everywhere, or are into (or want to try) swinging. Otherwise Spain is the place for the actual beaches and the people on them.
: We’ll also send you this message by email, so you can contact us for more details; we have extensive info on Ibiza and Cap d’Agde if you want.
