Spa88 is a legitimate spa in downtown Manhattan. They are not nude-friendly (if the staff sees you nude, they'll tell you to cover up, sometimes rudely), but they're large enough that it's sometimes possible to find a quiet spot where there are no staff members present and briefly go nude there. In particular, the upstairs room with the swimming pool and hot tub is often lightly populated, and from time to time I've seen small groups of nude users gather there.
It's not very comfortable feeling as though you've constantly got to watch over your shoulder, but it's a nice spa overall, and it's not as though there are a lot of better options out there in New York City.
Last time I went, the entry fee was about $30-40 per person.
: what is Spa88? Is this a nude event or is nudity acceptable there? Also, how much should I expect to shuck out for an individual or a couple?
