to what u said below, which model-etc SONY HD you talking about, fixing to take a look at a few. and go back to haulover.... :) and shoot mucho video.
In 2003 I had just switched over from using HI8 to miniDV with a Canon ZR50....
The only video format anyone should be thinking about for new cameras now is the High Definition format. We did some tests with the very affordable new Sony consumer camera and it is fantastic!

Buy a good tripler to add to the lens. Your 15x optical zoom becomes 45x though you lose the wide end while it is on. But you need to spend the money on a good one.
