I haven't been back to Haulover since 2003, but I am finally able to go back this coming June.
In 2003 I had just switched over from using HI8 to miniDV with a Canon ZR50. I thought I needed even more zoom than the unit's 22X optical would give me (I hate digital zoom), so I used what turned out to be a "cheap" screw-on 2X telephoto lens. Everything looked great on the tiny LCD viewscreen while filming, but once I got home to really view it, the telephoto lens had caused everything to soften up and bloom on me. The actual video is not quite as bad as the video captures that were recently posted seem to show, but I was still very disappointed with the material I get when using the telephoto lens.
I would kill for a camera with 22X optical now. I have two new video cameras with much higher resolution than the ZR50 had, but nothing with more than 16X optical. I currently have a Canon Optura 20 & a Canon Optura 40. I have had to hone my skills and move in closer now.
Tons of batteries & tapes are essential on any trip.
This next trip I am also thinking of bringing along my Canon Powershot Pro1 8MP still camera. I have never used a still camera on any outings, so this would be a first. I have not figured out how to get good video capture stills from digital video. I have tried every program I have, but to no avail. Suggestions would be welcome.
What are usually the best days of the week for Haulover to be nice & busy with beautiful women? I am figuring Friday - Sunday.

: I saw you shot a bit in 2003, are you planning on going to haulover in the near future? you have some very good...hmmm..angles..lol I am going to try and get more valleyball, that should come out good I think. I was wondering what u shot the 2003 with, as per advice. I have been shooting with a miniDV, I bought a few more batteries so power is not a problem.
