I was in South Beach the week of Feb. 11-19. About a third of the women went topless during that time. However, on Thursday, Feb. 17, the weather warmed up to 82 degrees, the sun was intense, and half the women were baring their breasts and lying out in the sun. I was walking from 5th Street
down to South Pointe (where topless sunbathing is not supposed to happen). Most of the women were models, toutrists, or college students. Considering that Miami Beach is one of the most popular destinations for Americans and Europeans, it is refreshing to see women who would be modest about shedding their clothing have no qualms about shedding their tops at a popular beach.
