From my posts on this site, it is well known I love the Riveria. The beaches in Nice are topless but not nude. The beaches along Boulevard Anglais form a long crescent stretching much of the lengnth of the city. The beaches are very popular.
The best parts of the beach are the private beach clubs. It is worth the money to go to them since the beach itself is made of small stones. The beach clubs offer chaise lounges and some have piers over the water. they also offer food and drinks. It is great to a club all day and tan. Many of the clubs also offer dinner.
The public beaches are filled with stones. Only the locals seem comfortable on them. If you go to Nice but a good pair of beach sneakers since you will need them. Just getting in and ot of the water is difficult due to all the stones.
If you really want a nude beach, then drive to St. Tropez. Along the 7 mile wide Pompleone beach is Club Liberte. It is clothing optional and attracts lot of German visitors. Many of the women wear cute thongs or go topless rather than nude. They also have a place for RV's in the back for staying overnight though the town itself has wonderful jet set hotels.
If you go to St. Tropez plan on lunch at Club 55. It is where Brigette Bardot and Roger Vadim spent much time. In the last 45 years it has an international reputation for being a great place. The view of the long beach and all the attractions is worth the steep price.
Consider also Cap Agade for a longer vacation. It is a distnce from Nice but offers a full experience. Paul is the expert on this location so I will defer to his wisdom.
