Southern Exposure,

Yes, in Sydney I have been to Cobblers Beach on the Nth Shore. Pitifully small beach, little space, not a wave to be seen, sand is anything but soft, and it is a bugger to get to (walking down rocks...virtually). A couple hours north of Sydney, then you are in business. Some nice beaches near Newcastle. But sometimes you can't be bothered driving 2 x 2 hrs for a couple hours of sunshine.

Perth's nudist beach is amazing. 15 mins from the city, a massive stretch of golden sand, blazingly warm summers, activities like volleyball, and it is a surf beach with waves. The m-f mix is probably 75-25 these days. Used to be more like 60-40, or even 50-50 when I started as a youngster.

I had an amazing experience there last summer on a quiet day (a cool day after about 5 days of piping hot weather...so virtually no-one was there), with a group of schoolgirls taking an interest in the beach for the first time, and laying down their stuff next to mine. It was a pretty intense hour for me! I can go into more detail at another time.

But generally its a pretty placid place....not too many shenanigans go on.
