May and early June weather can vary from year to year on LI. Sometimes it's quite warm by then, other years, like 2004, not so hot. Anyhow, I was at Lighthouse Beach on June 9th, temps in the 80's at the shore. It was great and it was packed. Plenty of eye candy to go around. 2004 season has definitely started. Go and enjoy.
