Re: Web site problem?

This is my educated guess.  They have the website set to automatically update at about 1 AM.  That means the ftp program sends up the pictures and sends up the new version of the new galleries page.  I often get this message about 11 PM here on the west coast.  I have a feeling that the html has uploaded for the new page, but the pictures, which are bigger, haven’t made it up yet.  In each case I check back the next morning and everything is OK.

It takes about 20 minutes for me to update Flash4Us, and I know during that 20 minute window everything is not connected, so there can be some dead links that will be fine as soon as the upload is complete.

My guess - but I’m certain Pixel Dust can clarify it more accurately.

Re: Web site problem?

Fingers is pretty much correct - you get those error messages when the site has been asked to do something it isn’t ready to do. You can go back a page or two, reload the page and then try again and it should work. If something’s actually ‘broken’, we’ll try to fix it ASAP.

Re: Web site problem?

Okay I looked up the times.

At 3:13 AM the video clips update.
At 3:30 AM our search page updates it’s indexes.
At 3:33 AM our photo galleries update.

That’s Eastern time.

I also restarted the photo gallery site just now, which is what happens at 3:33 AM, and I was able to count to 5 before the photos and galleries were available again.

So my suggestion is to just keep reloading the page when you see an error like this, and if you still see the error after a minute then copy it and send it to us by email, message, or forum posting. It would also help if you told us the time it happened, the URL of the webpage, and what you were trying to do (like rate the photo, or favorite it, or click the next link).
